The next topic of our biweekly discussions will be "From chalkboards to pdfs - how we capture our work for online distribution". As we do more and more online teaching and archiving of our educational materials, how do we manage to reproduce in digital form our chalkboard drawings, calculations, homework solutions and obscure symbols and such which aren't always easy to create on computers. During the session I'll demonstrate one solution - tablet input + screen capture that I used to record videos tutorials of how to solve physics homework problems. If you have had frustrations with, or found solutions for digitizing aspects of your teaching please come to IRC101 on Monday from 2-3pm and share your experiences. If you need any special equipment to demonstrate solutions you have found, please let me know by Sunday night.
