Hello all,

This is Felix, I'm a first-time lecturer in the economics department. You might have heard me talk a bit about Aplia, which is kind of like Blackboard tailored for economics, with a gradebook, discussion board, and online homework assignments that let students drag around lines on graphs. Aplia also has some online experiments. The first one I plan for Monday during class time but not in the classroom because I have heard that there's some problems with Aplia experiments when everybody's laptop is wirelessly on the same access point.

So this is the first time I'll be running the classroom electronically. If any of you who have ever run a classroom remotely have any advice or tips or just anything to keep in mind, I would love to hear them.

The experiment has a few tabs on the screen. One of them is chat. One is the experiment window showing real-time trading bids and exchanges from each student, kinda like the stock market. And I can send announcements that appear on the screen no matter which tab you're in, so I can direct them to go to the chat tab and explain stuff.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thank you!
