Location: BBC 224
Start: 7:00 pm
End: 9:00pm
Join The Brothers of Phi Beta Sigma- Mu Lambda and the Collegiate 100 as we discuss homicide rates within our community.
The leading causes of death for all young men ages 15-29, regardless of race or ethnicity, are unintentional injury (e.g. car accident, firearm, or drowning), suicide, and homicide.
For young African American men, more deaths are caused by homicide than any other cause. California cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, and Richmond continue to lead each year in homicides.
This discussion will attempt to answer the question “Why are we (African American Males) killing ourselves?” We will discuss the perpetual growth of homicide rates within our cities.
COME OUT AND LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD.
FRIDAY 19th: CAMPUS TOURS for BERNAL SCHOOL STUDENTS.
