Hello all SJSU Honor Society officers!

 

            As most of you have probably heard by now, San Jose State's 8^th Annual Student Organization Leadership Conference (SOLC) is just around the corner! The conference will be held on Saturday, September 25^th, 2010. Two representatives from every student organization, as well as all new Greek members will be in attendance.

 

            We are running very short on volunteers this year and need your help! Since you are registered as a honor society on campus, we would love to have your involvement! Please refer all the members you recruit to the “Volunteer Information” page on the SOLC website. On this page, they will find more information and the link to register to volunteer at the conference. Follow the link below to access this page:

You may also simply send me a list of names and emails of those interrested in volunteering rather than going through the online application process.

Of course, this is a great opportunity to gain community service hours!

 

Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet and network with over 900 students on campus, get a free breakfast, free lunch, free t-shirt, and a chance to mingle with hundreds of leaders on campus! This opportunity is open to all students! Remember though, if you are one of the two representatives signed up to attend the conference already, you cannot also volunteer. Of course, if you can recruit multiple members to help out, let me know and I can place them in their assignments together :)

 

Please respond to me by this Friday (September 17^th) to let me know if your organization will be able to help us out or not. Thanks a lot in advance!

           

Also please note that there will be a mandatory brief volunteer training and information session on Thursday, September 23rd. Volunteers may chose to attend the 9:30am-10:30am session or the 5pm-6pm session. Both will be held in the Student Involvement Office.

 

We can’t put on the conference without you all! Thank you in advance for your help!
