Hello everyone,

Here are the latest updates on author-y, book-y stuff from my end!

Save the Date
I'm thrilled to announce that my third YA novel, THE TRUTH AGAINST THE WORLD, was officially released to the world on June 8th! The book launch party will be on July 5th, 3:00 pm, at the Stanislaus County Library in downtown Modesto--I hope those of you in the area can make it. There will be a reading (of course), signing, books for sale, and I'll also talk about how this novel came to be and how all that Welsh stuff got in there.

Reviews
The Truth Against the World has been getting some great buzz! Here are a few choice tidbits from the reviewing outlets:

VOYA: "Wales is not a common setting for young adult novels and this uniqueness is what makes this title stand out from other contemporary paranormal mysteries....Equal parts family story, coming-of-age journey, travel adventure, and innocent romance, this novel is recommended for collections that could use a hint of literary writing infused into their ghost stories."

Kirkus: "[T]here's an old-fashioned charm to this gently meandering tale that can't be denied. A fresh-air alternative to claustrophobic dystopias."

School Library Journal: "There are opportunities for information literacy lessons in this book, including a moment when Gareth discusses limiting his search and consulting a reliable source. The description of Wales, and integration of Welsh language and proverbs are fascinating and well researched. The overall pace of the book is a little slow but would grip those interested in paranormal mysteries."

Another NPR Mention!
My first novel The Latte Rebellion received another mention from NPR, this time on their Code Switch blog in a post entitled "Seeking Wonderful Young Adult Novels That Deal With Race": http://www.npr.org/blogs/codeswitch/2013/12/17/252019583/seeking-wonderful-young-adult-novels-that-deal-with-race

On the Blogs:
On my personal blog, I participated in a blog tour that gave me an opportunity to talk about my writing process: http://aquafortis.blogspot.com/2014/06/writing-process-blog-tour-self-interview.html

On Finding Wonderland, the blog I share with fellow YA author Tanita Davis, I recently posted about a fun YA read that combines creativity, serendipity, and Geek Camp--Breakfast Served Anytime by Sarah Combs: http://writingya.blogspot.com/2014/06/now-reading-breakfast-served-anytime-by.html

That's it for now. I hope to see you at my book launch!

-Sarah
