Dear Friends in Christ,
Peace of Christ be with to you all.
Journeying together, we are coming towards the end of yet another spirit filled fruitful year. The present coreteam has fared well in planning and organizing opportunities for us to answer the call to Holiness, Community and Service. We've welcomed new members into our Journey family, helped one another learn, love and live our faith through Prayerful recital of The Rosary, Faith and Bible Study, Day of Recollection and Annual Retreat. We never missed an opportunity in serving our parish community in helping out at the religious education program, confirmation retreats, Lenten soup suppers, parish fair, at the welcoming tables, as ushers and as Eucharistic ministers. By working with Second Harvest, Teenage rescue homes, senior living homes, cleaning beaches etc., we were able to spread The Love of God, lots of smiles and warmth our Catholic Faith beyond our parish boundaries.
It’s time again for new beginnings! We are asking you, the Young Adults of The Journey to provide us with nominations for all the positions on the next coreteam. The term of the position will be for one year. The purpose of the core team is to plan and organize various events to provide participation and Faith Sharing among the Young Adults, in the implementation of Our Young Adult Ministry's Mission and Goals
Prospective candidates should have the following qualifications:
· Registered Journey Member
The nomination process will be followed by a period of spiritual discernment. This allows the nominees to consider if they are called to this Ministry and it also allows the nominations committee Guided by the Pastor of St. John Neumann parish to reflect upon the qualifications of each individual. From this process, a list of candidates will be developed for presentation at the July Potluck supper (6th July 2010). Following which the core team elections will be held.
Newly elected core team members will be installed at the August Potluck supper. The Journey's Mission statement and Goals can be viewed at the website: sjnjourney.net and Stewardship and Young Adults: An Invitation to Help Change the World can be found at http://www.usccb.org/bishops/stewardship.shtml
Please pray that the Holy Spirit will guide us all in this process. If you are receiving this email, you are already a registered member of The Journey. So, please prayerfully consider if you or a specific Journey member are called to one or more of the following positions; and email your list of nominations on or before 15th June 2010 to annie....@gmail.com
