Tuesday, October 5 – Journey Potluck Supper, Parish Hall, 7 PM
Are you interested in meeting new people in the Journey? This Tuesday evening, all are invited to our monthly potluck supper in the parish hall at 7 PM. Thursday, October 7 – Adoration with Twentysomethings, St. Bonaventure Parish, 8 PM
Meet up with other twentysomething members for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on the 7th of each month. Spend quiet time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament in the church. At 9:00 we will gather outside and grab some ice cream. The parish is located at 16400 Springdale St. in Huntington Beach. For more info, please call Katie at 714-330-2176.
Saturday, October 9 – Second Harvest Food Bank Service Event, 1-4 PM
Under the guidance of the Council of Orange, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Food Bank began providing food for the hungry in October 1983. Since 1983, the Food Bank has provided more than 245 million pounds of donated and surplus food to local charities. The Food Bank currently serves 450 member charities that reach the hungry, including church pantries, shelters, senior centers, rehabilitation centers, homes for abused women and children and many other emergency assistance organizations.
On Saturday, we will be packaging food boxes for families in need. Carpool: leaving SJN parking lot at 12:15 PM. If you cannot carpool please get directions from the www.feedoc.org website. Sunday, October 10 – Journey Sunday and Welcoming Table
Grab a friend, neighbor, or sibling and head over to SJN on this Journey Sunday. We'll need all hands on deck to help us “man” the welcome tables. PLUS, we'll be serving at the "Journey" 12:30 PM Mass as ushers and collectors; after Mass we'll head to a nearby restaurant for lunch. So come by anytime and stay as long as you can.
