* Nurse Practitioners (NP's) in 48 other states can practice to the full extent of their training
* Currently Florida's NP's can not prescribe low addicting control substances - like cough medicine with codeine and diarrhea medication
* Currently Florida's NP's can not order x-rays, sign death certificates, order physical therapy...
* In rural & high-poverty areas do not have good access to physicians
WHAT WOULD IT SAVE THE STATE IN FUNDS?
* FL Tax Watch & the Office of Program Policy Analysis & Govt Accountability estimate - cost savings of $339 million annually for FL - if we would allow our NP's full extent of their training
