Have you heard anything about the takeover of the tech building at Sjcc?

I am a student at city college and a taxpayer in San Jose, live near
the college. Has anyone else heard anything about students losing the
entire Tech building to administrators? I take a lot of classes in
the building and its one of the best ones. My mom said she voted for
Measure I, which gave millions to the college to build that building.
Now students are losing it? I heard one of my instructors talking
about it and I guess a lot of them are really upset. I seem to be one
of the few students who know about it. Is this just a rumor?

My understanding is that there is a proposal,which still needs to go through board approval, to move some of the admin that is out at Evergreen into the tech building.  Technically the building and ground it sits on are a joint use deal with the campus and the developer who built the building.  With huge budget shortfalls I imagine the district is trying to consolidate and save money.  Only speculation.  Ask the administration directly. --- On Sat, 9/26/09, Jessica Gomez <jessicam...@gmail.com> wrote:
