"KAIZEN" Teaching / Teacher Improvement Programme:
After months of incubation, and daresay much to-in and fro-ing and several hours of ideation and hard work, an idea that germinated and then developed in the minds of a few of us -- in particular, A G Krishnaswamy,Gopal Bengeri, Umakanth Alva and yours truly, Siddharth Raja -- seems finally to be bearing fruit.
The maiden programme, under the aegis of the OBA (announced at last year's OBA Day) and being run as an initial 'pilot' scheme, of our unique teacher and teaching improvement, support and promotion programme -- aptly called "Kaizen" -- is starting this Monday, 6th July (at 3:00 p.m.) in our dear alma mater, St. Joseph's Boys' High School.
With the solid encouragement of, and particularly strong support from, Fr. Principal (thank you, Fr. Clifford Sequeira) as well as the active involvement and full assistance of our school's Vice Principal (thank you, Miriam ma'am) and one of its seniormost teachers, Gowri Achanta (thank you!), eighteen teachers in the High School (across various levels of experience) will participate in this, first of many, 6-session long "improvement" (as opposed to a training) programme aimed at sharpening their teaching skills, delivery and interaction with their students, and thereby improving the teaching programme and environment at our alma mater, so that teaching becomes a genuine and happy learning experience for all its students.
Who are you and what have you done with Moin?
