Karachi: The Sports Journalists Association Sindh (SJAS) has elects it's new office bearers for next term, elections were held at Karachi Press Club on Saturday, 3rd October 2015 under the observation of an independent election committee headed by Syed Sajid Aziz and member Rizwan Bhatti.
Turn out in election was so nice 50 members cast their votes out of 59 while three voters were out of city, two votes were declared as rejected.
As per results United panel won 18 seats out of 20 and the "Founder panel" won two seats.
According to results Mr Tariq Aslam (Daily Nai Baat) elected unopposed as President while Zubair Nazir Khan also got Senior vice president post on the same way.
Shahid Ali Khan (daily Awam) and Mr Ubaid ur Rehman Awan (Samaa News) got 29 each votes and elected as vice presidents, 3rd candidate on this post Mr Tariq Hussain (Daily Dunya) obtained 27.
Irshad Ali (Aaj TV) takes over as Treasurer he bags 31 while his opponent Mr Faizan Lakhani (Geo News) earned 15 votes, Umer Shaheen (Daily Jehan Pakistan) got 28 for the post of Joint Secretary while Abdul Ghaffar (Dawn News TV) got 18, Mr Zahid Ghaffar (Neo TV) got elected as information Secretary (34 votes) his opponent Maqsood Ahmed (Daily Jasarat) bags 13.
