I've been working on my PixInsight script that extracts pure emission lines from a set of SHORGB images. It produced this narrowband image, which also has an initial color mapping into something very close to the true colors of the narrowband emissions. This allows, among other things, using star colors to photometrically color-calibrate the image and eliminates the magenta stars or the oft-used transfer of stars from the RGB image into the narrowband image.

Hi Alex – that’s a great image! Would you be willing to share any details about your method?

Hi Alex,

I noticed an update to a script in Pixinsight in the last couple days that referred to magenta stars.  Is this the same one?
