AirBus10Hello everyone,

This will hopefully be my last update email to you before we take off for Europe!

We are meeting this Thursday in the Morse Center lobby at 7:30am SHARP. The bus leaves at 9am, so that gives me a good amount of time to check in with each trip participant about each of these things:

1) Luggage tags on your checked bag and carry-on. Your name and address written ON your checked bag.
2) Passport
3) $75 tip envelope
4) Your checked bag will be opened up and examined for ridiculous items.
5) Copy of hotel info and trip itinerary
6) 2 extra sets of clothing in your carry-on
7) All liquid containers in checked baggage must be labeled as being 3.4oz at the largest. All of your carry-on liquids must be in one quart sized zip lock clear plastic bag.
8) A master list of what you packed
9) All checked luggage straps are detachable

While on the trip we will need to frequently count everyone off. Since our group is so large, one big count off would not work very well. So, for the purposes of checking in, every trip participant has been assigned to one of the trip chaperones. So, whenever we need to account for everyone, all you need to do is report to your assigned chaperone. Here are the chaperone groups:

A few more notes:

The international cell phone has arrived. I'll have it on me at all times during the trip. The number is +423.663.013515. Please note that you should only call this number in the case of extreme emergency. While we're in the US on the way to and from the airport, if you need to contact me you'll need to call my US cell phone at 802.748.9857.

Sometime in the late evening on our first day in Athens I will send word out through the phone tree that we landed safetly. That means you should expect a call sometime in the morning this Friday.

FlorenceI just made a couple updates to the phone tree. Please make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the list on you at all times during the duration of the trip.

During the trip I will be sending updates out as frequently as I can manage through the trip mailing list. Students will also be able to post trip updates in the 'Trip Updates' section of this site.

If in the past few days you've come across things you've almost forgotten, or any last minute packing tips, feel free to send them over to me and I'll relay them to the entire group.

The day trip to Delphi is still an option. If you'd like to go on the day trip, please let me know on Thursday morning. The cost for the trip will be somewhere around $75-$100.

Florence, our Tour Director, has sent over a picture of herself. Her picture is on the right.

Hopefully that's everything...

Cya on Thursday morning!

One corrections everyone:

Item 7 on the Thursday morning checklist should read:

7) All liquid containers in carry-on baggage must be labeled as being 3.4oz at the largest. All of your carry-on liquids must be in one quart sized zip lock clear plastic bag.

The liquid containers in your checked baggage can be normal sized.
