Guaranteed entrants, Quotas and Entry Opening Durations

Just some more clarification and last minute announcements.

Guaranteed entrants:

You are a guaranteed entrant if you meet the requirements as on the
website. Specifically:

1) 5 or more Six Foot finishes under the race cut-off-qualified in
last 5yrs finish or last 3 yrs 'other'
2) Race pioneer ie ran in 1984
3) Previous outright winner (male or female)
4) Overall top ten male or female last year
5) Race winner or podium position (top 3) in qualifying race as per
list on website
6) Fundraiser of over $1000.00 last year
7) International entrant authorised in writing by Race Director
8) Local entrant authorised in writing by Race Director
9) Pacer/sweeper in this year's race
10) Six Foot committee member authorised by Race Director
11) Previous Six Foot Race Director

Entry Quotas and Duration:

Novices: Maximum 320 plus 20% waitlist. If this total reached before
24 hrs the entry will be closed

'Other Veterans' i.e. non guaranteed or between 1 and 4 finishes:
Provisional limit is 360 plus 35% waitlist. If this total reached
before 24 hrs the entry will be closed.

Guaranteed Entrants: 'Estimated uptake' 220.* Entries will remain open
for entire 24 hrs irrespective of uptake. They don't have to rush
entry at 9am, but need to do it by at least 9am Thursday. Any later
will be up to me.

Total limit: Race start limit 850. Provisional entry limit 900 (i.e.
320 + 360 +220). If guarantees 'oversubscribe' we will allow for this
in slack to 950.

If total is less than 950 then it will be brought back up to 950 by
automatically allocating additional entries from the "Other Veteran'
waitlist. We will assume you will want this entry.

Any entrants who enter after the respective limits will be aware that
they are registering on the waitlist. They will not be charged until
they have received and accepted an entry.

Notwithstanding all the guarantees, limits and durations the race
director reserves the right to ammend totals/limits especially so that
it fits within the limit of 950 so that we meet the legal start limit
of 850 on race day. We are absolutely restricted by that obligation.
We also want to make it fair for everyone in the respective groups.


*As a footnote in deriving the guarantee total of 220, our estimations
from previous trends show that 150 to 180 '5 time or more' veterans
will take an entry. This particular group is encouraged to enter early
anyway, in case the overall upper limit (950) is reached in extra-
ordinary circumstances.
