Haven't seen any updates in a while. Is this group active off list?

Feel like hacking on some project ...

Vj,

hi,

I developed a tool m|oppr, that let you build mobile applications in
hours. I built this one in a day:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wikityo/id412488648?mt=8 including
back-end services.

I am looking for beta customers at no cost, and I was think a 6 hours
6 app challenge where people would come with their mobile app idea and
leave with a bunch of code.

The tool web site is here: http://www.moppr.com and I have included a
short presentation. The tool itself will be very cheap $1/compilation,
to a typical app could cost no more than 30-50$ depending on how many
iterations you need.

Anyways, if you are interested let me know.

thanks,

JJ-

Note that with data feeds opening up everywhere, http://www.businessinsider.com/mayor-bloomberg-announces-bigapps-20-competition-for-nyc-developers-2010-10, there are tons of opportunities to build great apps. There shouldn't be a shortage of ideas.

At the moment the Android support is nascent, I might actually, just go directly to HTML 5. I was thinking to generate iPhone apps + their backends as this is the most mature. The other platforms are coming and the same application descriptor would be used to generate the corresponding target environment. I also have Nokia available but it is not as common in the US.

I'll see what I can do.

Ideally, I was thinking data / process centric applications like this one I built as a demo app: http://www.wikityo.org  - it is available on the iTunes App Store.

That being said, we could prototype the app store on the iPhone, we would just not be able to download any kind of executable from it. Once the tool fully supports Android or other platforms we can recompile the app.

I'll try to get the Sencha code generation working (http://www.sencha.com) as it works on most mobile platforms.

Would that work?

thanks,

What about some type of application for droid that makes it as easy to back up and restore and buy like the itunes store? The are ruling the universe with downloads and available apps.

Thoughts?

Maybe that's a bit of a stretch.

Verizon just bought Terremark yesterday for $1.4 B, I'd be surprised if they had done that with the Cloud being dead.

The problem with App Stores is that everyone is building one, specially the big guys.

We could build an advertising engine that displays text / pictures in an app. I think that's feasible as one of the apps.

There would be a web site where people would register an ad (and pay) and then a bit of code that a developer could embed in his app to display the ads. We could build a very sample app to show that.

what do you think?
