Girls School Rd., Indianapolis (future trailhead), B&O now goes from downtown Indianapolis to middle of Hendricks County. Celebration Ride Oct. 8 @ 6 pm starting at Daredevil Brewing Company in Speedway • Wednesday, Oct. 15, 4 pm, Riley Art Trail, Greenfield @ James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home & Museum, 250 W. Main St., Greenfield. • Tuesday, Oct. 21, 4 pm, Nickel Plate Trail Ribbon Cutting @ 62nd & Allisonville, Indianapolis. Nickel Plate Trail in Indianapolis is partially complete.  | Street safety funds included in $20M city budget addition (IBJ) Councilor Andy Nielsen, a Democrat, introduced the an amendment for and additional $20 million in the 2026 Indianapolis budget in tandem with the city’s controller. It includes $2 million for strip patching, an additional $750,000 for the city’s eviction court assistance program, an additional $2 million for roadwork design and $1 million for pedestrian and traffic safety rapid response initiatives. “In this budget process, we’ve heard pretty clearly of needing a focus
on pedestrian and traffic safety,” Nielsen said. “We’re making a million-dollar investment in that, plenty more to go.” |
