Important birthday!

Greetings all - 

October 24th is Len Stahlgren’s 90th !!!!  birthday.  Some of you will not know him as he and his wife Jan stopped riding several years ago.  But they both rode for many years and were active, supportive SIW members.

Len & Jan moved to the Masonic Home earlier this year and sadly Jan is in the memory care unit. He is with her a lot, but then comes home to an empty apartment.  When riding with me, Len would always ask about my Alzheimer's husband Joe, how he was doing.  That was SO nice that my Joe was not forgotten!  I will always treasure that memory, and suggest that everyone ask about another’s loved one.  Even if they’ve passed away, we still want to talk about them.  

How about we deluge him with birthday cards this month?  I think it would be a wonderful surprise for him.  Whether you know him or not, send one.  And if you have the time, include a few words about who you are or a memory of a ride you shared with him.  He almost always wore a Disney jersey ( which were passed on to a lucky bunch of us).

Thank you for doing this - blessings will come back to you twofold. You can count on it.
