The film is about a young woman, Sunita and her father Mohandas, who finds out that his trusted employee, Rajan, has been embezzling money from him. He confronts him but Rajan attacks him, flinging him out of the window of the multi-storyed building, but the police think that the death was accidental. This leaves the coast clear for Rajan to wed Mohandas' only daughter, Sunita. Sunita is distraught and ends up married to this "wrong" man, Rajan. Shortly after the wedding, Sunita finds out the truth. She thinks that Rajan has conspired with his girlfriend Monica to murder her. So she runs away to find her father's old friend in Bangalore, who may be able to help. On the way, she experiences an accident and ends up with a band performing gypsies. She meets caravan van-driver Mohan and she is attracted to him. Sunita does not know that she has put herself in danger again - this time at the hands of knife-thrower, Nisha, who loves Mohan, and will kill anyone who gets in her way. To make matters worse, Rajan has not given up his search for Sunita.

The late santoor player was cremated with full state honours in the presence of family and close friends earlier this week. The 83-year-old musician died on May 10 morning following a heart attack at his Pali Hill residence. After a guard of honour in Juhu, where his mortal remains were kept for people to pay their respects, his funeral was held at Vile Parle's Pawan Hans Crematorium.

The musician's family, including wife Manorama and sons Rahul and Rohit, his friends from the fraternity, including long-time collaborator Hari Prasad Chaurasia and Zakir, were present. His last rites were performed by his sons, followed by a gun salute.

"My father always said that each instrument has a spirit and if you are a student, half the battle is to get that spirit to accept you as a mate, as a friend. Once that happens, the instrument reveals how you should react to it, touch it and express yourself through it," Hussain told PTI in an interview.

"Music is my world. It is the garb I wear. Tabla is a mate, it is a brother, a friend, it's the bed I sleep in. I am at a point where my relationship with the spirit of my tabla is special. I find myself at a place where I cannot imagine that I can exist without it. It motivates me to get up in the morning and say, 'hello'," he added.

"It's wrong to think that Indian classical music will have the same appeal as film music. I advise my Indian musician friends, don't despair that you don't get the same kind of audiences as AR Rahman, Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Salim, Sulaiman are having in their concerts."

Habib Ibne Mazahir was about the same age as Imam Husayn (as). They were childhood friends, when Imam Ali (as) moved the capital from Medina to Kufa, Habib also moved to Kufa. He stayed in Kufa and became a prominent citizen. The first letter which Imam Husayn (as) received inviting him to Kufa was signed by none other than his childhood friend Habib Ibne Mazahir. After Hazrat Muslim ibn Aqeel and Hazrat Hani ibn Urwah were martyred by Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad, Kufa was sealed off. No one could get in or out of the city without the Governor Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad's permission.

He continued: "Zaynab! My sister! Falsehood can buy many supporters, but truth has only a few friends. The soldiers on the other side have been bought. They prefer happiness in this world than in the world hereafter. My seventy-two truthful men prefer happiness in the world hereafter and that is why they are with me."

In Karbala Imam Husayn (as) called no one for help except his childhood friend Habib Ibne Mazahir. That very same day Imam Husayn (as) wrote a letter to Habib Ibne Mazahir, his childhood friend, telling him how Yazid ibn Mu'awiyah's vultures were gathering to kill him. The letter was carried by a messenger who entered Kufa in the dark by climbing over the city walls. The messenger reached Habib's house as Habib, his wife and his young son were sitting down for breakfast/meal. Habib read the letter, kissed it and tears began to flow down his cheeks. His wife asked him what was wrong. Habib said "Who would ever have thought that people would be so thirsty for the blood of the grandson of Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw), whose name they utter in every Adhaan and in every Salaah?"

At Asr, when most people were in the mosque, Habib slipped out of Kufa to reach the farm where his horse was waiting. He quickly mounted his horse and said to his slave: "Go, my friend, Go! I am freeing you from my services."

Habib persisted with his request. Eventually Imam Husayn (as) gave his permission. Imam Husayn (as) mounted his friend, Habib, on the horse. Habib Ibne Mazahir rode into the battlefield. He fought bravely but was finally over-powered. He fell to the ground.

Imam Husayn (as) rushed towards him. Habib looked at Imam and said "O the grandson of Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw), please forgive this humble servant for not being able to give more than his unworthy life for you and Islam." Imam Husayn (as) took Habib in his arms and cried, "O my friend! O my friend!" Habib died resting his head on Imam Husayn's shoulder.

Why you chose NBI:My aim when choosing my ideal program was to serve an underserved patient population where I would encounter very different pathologies so as to help and learn as much as I can during my years of residency. Since my first week in NBI I was thrilled by the interesting cases and how helpful and friendly the residents and faculty. Every day at the Beth is an enjoyable learning experience.

Why you chose NBI: NBI has all of the things that I am looking for. It is one of the most prestigious hospitals in the U.S.A. and the world. It offers great learning in the residency years through the wide and diverse population of patients that it serves. NBI has many fellowships, especially cardiology, and great research opportunities. Residents have the opportunity to learn in a friendly atmosphere. They also have the chance to be in a program that cares about their wellness. NBI is my top choice, and I am so glad to be here.

It has phenomenal exposure to a diverse patient population and pathologies, including bread and butter cases, rare cases, and sub-specialty exposure. The best attribute, however, is the camaraderie among residents, attendings, and support staff; it's like a big family. The faculty is dedicated to the success of their residents, providing the ideal balance of autonomy and support.

Why you chose NBI? I was born in India, spent my adolescent years in Europe, and moved to the US when I was a teenager, so I was looking for a residency program that emphasized education and clinical training equally and served a diverse population, all of which I found at NBI. I was particularly drawn to NBI due to its location - in the heart of Jersey, serving a diverse patient population and a wide variety of pathologies. Furthermore, when I interviewed at NBI, I was able to feel the warmth of the faculty and residents alike and how much happy they seemed, and I knew NBI was where I wanted to be. I am excited to be part of the NBI family!
