With the SiteWhere 1.7.0 release we have migrated the architecture from running as a WAR file in a standalone Tomcat instance to using Spring Boot with its embedded Tomcat support. This means that all of the Tomcat artifacts have been removed from the packages and the directory structure has been simplified. You will not be able to build the 1.7.0 WAR file and drop it into a pre-1.7.0 deployment since the structure has changed. The database structure and other details are backward compatible, so you will be able to install a new packaged deployment and point it to your existing database with no problems.
