visitng my crazy host mom for a few days before going on to france to
farm. The weather is spectacular. It is wonderful to be here but super
strange without all you nearby. They have totally remodeled Gare
Cornavin I almost didnt recognize it! It looks a lot better though.
all my love to you wherever your paths may be taking you. Throw out
some updates! Here is mine:
Just finished a 6 week fellowship in Copenhagen called Humanity in
Action - I emailed you about it before. It was incredible. Hard to
explain what we did - but it invovled visiting asylum centers and open
prisions (the scandinavian criminal justice system has really got a
lot to teach us) and meeting with academics, activists, others from
around Copenhagen and Denmark. There were Danes, Swedes, Bosnians, an
Estonian and Ethiopian on the program - I loved getting to know all of
them and having Danish guides around CPH. Of course I thought a lot
about our semester - it was a very different experience, but that was
my reference point for being in Europe... Now Iàm headed home in two
weeks to work for my dad until school starts up in September.
OHHH - I GOT A TATTOO!!!! In Berlin. It says 'kærlighed' which is
Danish for love - they dont use the word too much - it is a noun, not
a verb. there is a different word for saying 'I love that'
etcetera.... There is also a lot inside the word: 'kær' means dear one
or sweetness - somewhere in between there. and 'lighed' means
equalitz. ærlighed means honesty, openness. I designed it... there
will be photos on facebook once I go home and tell my parents in
person.....heh.

Wow! Your travels sound amazing! So glad to hear that you're still doin big things! Pics of the tat and of the gare are necessary!!! We need them! I just got done w statistics and yoga at summer school (2 classes, not one! Haha although that would be interesting...) and am in California now visiting my boyfriend for a week. From here I go to dc for an internship: helping 30 Chinese students adapt to American life and getting them ready to attend college here in the fall AND doing research on... You guessed it! Nuclear nonsense! Really excited to get some us interviews added to my research! Love u so much thanks for the update! Miss u mucho!
