My name is Emmanuel, I attend West Bronx academy, I am seventeen and a member of sistas and brothas united and today I have come here to fight the DOE because the student have being denied their right of education and I say we stand to fight and win
Closing this school will not solve anything but add more to the problem. If expulsion rate is the problem, dealt with it, suspension rate deal with it, low test scores, deal with it, whatever it is deal with it. Maybe it’s not just the students fault getting low grades and test scores. Did Bloomberg ever thought about bad teachers and what happens around these schools. Suspending and expelling student for reasons that makes no sense needs to stop. Our school needs good teacher and equipment to function well and for student to perform well. We demand the DOE to fix out school not destroy and close them down.
Closing down John Kennedy high school is like punishing other students who are willing to get their education. Don’t make excuses for closing the school down, make improvement and leave our school open. Education is right. No education, No life.
