SisonkeBiotik is running a “Natural Language Processing for Health in Africa” series during the months of February, March, April, May 2024

The first event in this series - our AfriBio-QA Project Launch @ 17:00 (CAT) on Thursday 29 February 2024

The AfriBio-QA Project aims to benchmark large language models (LLMs) on African medical school exam questions for fairness and performance.
The project will be carried out in 3 phases
1) Dataset creation
  • Funded dataset creation ($30000 raised so far)
  • Volunteer dataset creation via invitations to medical schools for participation
2) AI model benchmarking
3) Academic outputs and paper writing

    The SisonkeBiotik Steering Committee (SC) is a democratically selected group of up to 13 representatives that act as the highest level of decision-making and leadership for the community. They set the direction for the community with regard to values, goals, planning and funding.
