Updated Workshop Agenda
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Special Ministerial Opening Session of the SFSA will now occur on Tuesday evening rather than Wednesday. In light of this, we have been asked to conclude the workshop by 4:00 PM and this has led to us condensing the workshop from 4 hours to 2 hours.
The workshop will run from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the SFSA venue in Pretoria. Please don't be late. Here’s the updated schedule:
- 2:00 PM – 2:02 PM: Opening Remarks
- 2:02 PM – 2:17 PM: Dr. David Twesigomwe – Assessing the impact of genetic variation on drug response: potential application of machine learning
- 2:17 PM – 2:32 PM: Phumulani Mcoyi – Detection of HIV-1 drug-resistant mutations through the localized surface plasmon resonance
- 2:32 PM – 3:00 PM: Panel Discussion and Q&A
- 3:00 PM – 3:55 PM: Design Dash Interactive Activity
- 3:55 PM – 4:00 PM: Closing Remarks
After the workshop, you’re welcome to attend the Special Ministerial Opening Session, led by Minister Blade Nzimande, and the subsequent networking event (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM).
We encourage groups to consider presenting their Design Dash outputs when Minister Blade Nzimande visits the workshop space during the walkabout session. We will gladly arrange flipcharts for everyone. This is entirely optional but a great opportunity to showcase your ideas!
