Subject: Job opportunity - Vacancy on forest modeling at JRC

Dear all

The JRC Directorate for Sustainable Resources has published a vacancy for the auxiliary contract staff position  FG IV Project officer in the field of modelling the forest carbon dynamics in the EU.

http://recruitment.jrc.ec.europa.eu/?site=IPR&type=AX&category=FGIV

https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/working-with-us/jobs

Deadline: 09/08/2017, 23h59 (Brussels time)

Please note that interested candidates must also apply to the permanent open call for researcher FGIV (https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/working-with-us/jobs/vacancies/function-group-iv-researchers), in case they are not already in a valid EPSO reserve list.

The vacancy is within the Bio-Economy Unit (located in Ispra, Italy), which provides scientific support to EU policies related to the bio-economy, such as the sustainable production and use of biological resources, including EU policies related to Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF).

We propose a challenging and stimulating position in the science-policy interface, for a dynamic researcher in the field of forest modelling.

The main tasks of the selected candidate will include:

-       Provide scientific support on forest carbon modelling, including performing model runs at country level for relevant policy and scientific scenarios.

-       Support the JRC in the development and implementation of the integrated modelling framework supporting the EU bio-economy.

-       Produce scientific publications

Please spread this information to whoever you think may be interested

best regards

Giacomo Grassi
