Justin, I found the .ttf file on my computer so I uploaded it to Resources. The font-family name was VERY picky ... I had to make it the exact same name as the font was called inside the .ttf file ... but, in the end it works.

Here we are, once again, with our now-famous selection of the top 100 free fonts for 2014. This year we have only selected fonts published or updated in late 2013 and 2014, giving you one of the most up-to-date lists around. The majority are completely free with licenses for commercial use; the odd few available for personal use only have extended license options at a very reasonable price. The free font list comprises both entire font families and single weight downloads; either way, there is something for everyone and we think you'll love the ones we have picked out for you.

We have selected all kinds of typefaces which can be seamlessly integrated into any design: Sans Serif, Slab Serif, Rounded, Decorative, Display, Art Deco, Geometric, Futuristic, and many more besides. Most of these typefaces have a web font kit to embed custom fonts with the @font-face rule. Learn how to embed web fonts.

There are various font files, all from the same family. I am trying to load them all. The font files are .ttf. I am loading them from a local folder, and there are various font-files, like Lato-Black.ttf, Lato-Bold.ttf, Lato-Italic.ttf etc.

Sometimes this problem happens when you upload/download the fonts using the wrong FTP method. Fonts must be FTP-ed using binary method, not ASCII. (Depending on your mood, it may feel counterintuitive, lol).If you ftp the font files using ASCII method, you can get this error message. If you ftp your files with an 'auto' method, and you get this error message, try ftp forcing the binary method.

In my case -- using React with Gatsby -- the issue was solved with double-checking all of my paths. I was using React/Gatsby with Sass and the Gatsby source files were looking for the fonts in a different place than the compiled files. Once I duplicated the files into each path this problem was gone.

In my case when downloading a template the font files were just empty files. Probably an issue with the download. Chrome gave this generic error about it. I thought at first the solution of changing from woff to font-woff solved it, but it only made Chrome ignore the fonts. My solution was finding the fonts one by one and downloading/replacing them.

If you are using express you need to allow serving of static content by adding something like: var server = express();server.use(express.static('./public')); // where public is the app root folder, with the fonts contained therein, at any level, i.e. public/fonts or public/dist/fonts...// If you are using connect, google for a similar configuration.

If it is on the server (not in localhost), then try to upload the fonts manually, because sometimes the FTP client (for example, FileZilla) corrupts the files and it can cause the problem. For me, I uploaded manually using Cpanel interface.

Adding the CSS to make the font work is not hard to do, but it will depend on where you put the styles. This could be a file that you add to the theme's style directoy. This file will need to be listed in your theme's config.php too. But all of that is mentioned in How to add custom fonts in a theme

Sorry that you are having difficulty with this. It's a strange environment when it comes to FONTS and browsers. Microsoft Internet Explorer was the only browser originally to add fonts to a website, and the best part of that was you could make your own font files using WEFT which was fun to do. But that's another story.

The font you showed me was homa and it is correct. Thing is, before user login, I see that some context fonts (which is persian) are in homa (which is expected to be). However, after login, the same same is shown by the default font (Times and not homa).

To get the font to work in all the other places like headings etc., you need to see which fonts are being used in the theme itself. Unfortunately there are a number of fonts that are in the settings for the Campus theme, which you can change but that would require you to add the Homa font to the settings list, and not sure if that can be done easily.

I was surfing the theme option pages and found Site Administration->Appearance->Themes->Campus->Look and Feel. There I saw that Body font and Heading font are combo boxes which select some predefined fonts used in the theme. Then I greped the words in theme/campus and found settings.php where the font names are grouped in arrays. Then I appended Tahoma (similar to Homa) in $choices variable.

I like all of them, for one reason or another, but I can get a lot of use out of fonts like Bebas Neue and Ostrich Sans, especially with their different weights. Any of these fonts are a good choice to add to your collection.
