Dear amazing folks,
As you already know that the world is witnessing a war like situation. It is not to create panic among you, but to seek solidarity and support to help poor and marginalized people of Afzalgarh. We want to help those invisible poor who only eat if they earn considering 21-day national lockdown due to COVID 19. As part of this initiative, we have set up a Bhai-Chaara (Brotherhood) committee in the town.
We have distributed ration to approx. 100 families across communities in Afzalgarh so far. We strongly realize that there are many informal colonies such as Duda, Kundan, Dhan, Banda, and on the outskirt of the town etc. where a large number of families sleep on empty stomach. These colonies are mainly occupied by labors, vendors, rickshaw-pullers, rag pickers, and other daily wagers. They barely have rations at their homes unlike many of us.
We are the group of volunteers who believe in doing benevolent deeds with large intentions. We have obtained permission from Local Thana (Police Station) to reach out to the targeted families.
