Hi,

I use an unmanaged gateway in the front of sipXecs  (The unmanaged gateway simulate an ITSP gateway).

If a  user registred on the sipXecs reject a call received from a pstn user ==> The sipXecs sends a SIP Message 603 Decline, this is good but this message don't contains the Q.850 cause or reason ? Why this happen ? With a SIP Trunk, the Q.850 cause is added in the 603 Decline Message
How can I customize these reasons in the sipXecs ?

Thanks for your help.
Youcef

Attach a packet capture.  sipX is a proxy and by that, it means that it should relay all headers.   So I find your report hard to believe.  Back it up with data.  If sipXproxy is stripping the header on it's way out, that is an outright bug and would be corrected right away.

Hi Joegen,
Thank you for this Reply.

I agree with you whene you say sipXecs is a proxy. and it forwards all the headers.
I speak on the following case:
I use an unmanaged gateway in the front of the sipXecs ( i dont' use the sipxbridge)
If a user registred on the sipXecs reject a call received from a pstn user , it sends a 603 Decline message without q.850 cause ==> My question is :it the sipXecs able to add  the Q.850 causes in this message before sending to the unmanaged gateway

I hope I m clear :)

Thanks

I think Joegen's point is, shouldn't the phone be sending this?  If we're not passing something the phone should be sending, let's see it and understand why.

What sipXbridge does / doesn't do is kind of a different story.

The answer to your question is quite obvious.   A decline from a SIP trunk is a decline from a ISDN/PSTN and thus MAY have a Q.950 cause code.  A decline from a SIP phone is not coming from either.    So to answer your question as to why sipx is not inserting a cause code, because it is not suppose to.

Hi Joegen
I'm sorry for my poor english.

I send you two cases:

First Case:
I configure mys sipXecs 10.58.30.98 with a siptrunk (10.58.33.179).
A call come from a pstn user (0177861210) to a sipxecs user 0183824928 (172.28.2.230).
This sipxecs user reject the call ==> the phone send to the sipxec a 603 Decline message without cause header.
In this case the sipXce (sipXbridge) add the cause for the 603 Decline (please see the first attached file 603_Decline_SIP_TRunk.JPG).

Second case:
I configure my sipXecs 10.58.30.98 with an unmanaged gateway Audiocodes (10.58.33.102)
For the same test, This sipxecs user reject the call ==> the phone send to the sipxec a 603 Decline message without cause header.(please see the first attached file 603_Decline_Unmanaged_Gateway.JPG)
In this case the sipXce don't add the cause header in the 603 Decline. My question why this difference ?
For you the IP phone must make a cause on the 603 messages ?

Thanks for your answers

Youcef, so in this case, sipXbridge is the equivalent in the path as your AudioCodes.  You would need to make your AudioCodes return what you want...  sipXbridge has something in it to do that.  sipXbridge is a separate service totally from the proxy.
