We are up to this point a Polycom Soundpoint shop. Decided to try the VVX Series. Using a VVX500 with 4.1.7 firmware. I have it successfully registered on Sipxcom 15.04. I can receive calls and both party can hear but not able to make any calls (Internal Extensions) the Soundpoints can make and receive calls. When Dialling a number, no ringing is observed until it timeouts and give a busy tone. I have three of these phones registered now same issue on all of them. Any ideas.

You might want to factory reset that VVX500, take it and the user you assign to it out of any groups, send the phone profiles, boot the phone and try again.

Also, I'd recommend stepping up to 5.2.5 firmware on the VVX.

After that you're into PCAP territory to start to figure this out because the VVX normally just work.

Thanks much for your response. I upgraded to 5.2.5 and also tried the factory reset, remove the user and phone from all groups. The problem remains plus it is happening to all three VVX 500 I tried, so I figure there is something else that is at play. Can the phone do the pcap, if so can you point me to the procedure. Thanks.

I recall something similar, in the phone settings under Voice/Codecs try removing the codecs G722.1 (32 kbps) and G7221_C.48kbps and just leave G.722 as the olny G.722 option.

Good point.  Have you removed g711 and your trunks are refusing?  Or secure settings maybe?

Paul,
Thanks this did the trick. I am now able to call out now.  I guess I won't be able to use these codecs unless there are only VVX installed ?

Thanks to everybody that try to help, appreciate it.

Regards

That doesn't explain why your factory reset and empty phone group didn't solve the problem...
