Hello,

So I received this today:

I am having an issue when dialing out certain numbers. The phone is blank (no ringing) then after about 20 seconds a busy signal sounds and a message appears on the phone stating “Not Acceptable Here”.

What would cause sipx to generate this error to a phone? Where should I start?

Thanks,
Max

Sounds like some sort of signalling problem.  Quite possibly with an upstream route that a provider is using (total swag).

The only way to prove is to reproduce/capture it and see what's happening in the signaling.  You can also turn up logging on sipXproxy and sipxbridge and use sipxtrace to look at the signaling.

What I'm reading points to a codec issue between the carrier and sipx. Is it possible to specify different codecs to be used to/from the sip trunk and internal users?

Media is defined in phone and also separately in media. You need a codec defined that both itsp and phone supports and has defined.

Under the sipxbridge advanced settings there is an option for codec. We are only allowing PCMU. I'm going to setup a packet capture for tomorrow, since that shouldn't be a problem.
