I am doing a new install on an Intel NUC to CentOS 7 [from a previous 6 version].  I installed CentOs, updated then did an sipxcom install without issue.  I am having repeated issues where sipxconfig is not running after install, update and reboot and the web GUI is not available with a 503 error.  I have tried this install on on both the NUC PC and a virtual interface and has come up on several occasions.  Suggestions for getting sipxconfig up and running?

Thanks
Charles

I'd start by doing a service sipxecs status. If it's not running try service sipxconfig start and see what happens

What NUC are you using?  I’ve seen issues with the NUC 7 on CENTOS 6, have not tried on CENTOS 7.    I stick with the NUC 5 for my installations for that reason.

Okay.  Personnally, I haven't started using versions on Centos 7. I dont have any experience to share.

Charles, did you ever find a resolution to this problem with sipxconfig failing? I'm having the same problem. No amount of setup or service restarts resolve the issue.

I got it working finally but had to start from scratch many many times and tried with both a NUC 5, NUC 8 and a virtual install.  Most of the time I could not get sipxconfig to start and the GUI would not come up.  Once or twice it worked and then I would reboot the machine and lose it again.

Only thing I've seen is someone having trouble when not enough resources on the machine.

2 cores and 4 gb or ram would be an absolute minimum...

My experience with Sipxconfig startup issues or 503 service unavailable GUI errors is to ascertain there is Internet connectivity, particularly when the system first comes up. If there is no internet connectivity at startup, provide connectivity and start/restart sipxconfig - this often resolves the 503 and stability issues. I've seen this issue on both release 18 and 19 systems ...

Many thanks for the feedback folks. The machine has four cores and 8GB RAM. The machine does have internet connectivity. So far on the second complete rebuild of the system, following the install instructions to the letter.

I had similar issues. What may have helped in my case is having all the firewall rules in place before installing anything. I am not sure which instructions you are using but Mike’s tutorials at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Yg168pg_fw and  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dJC_NGFmpI are great guides to get things done correctly in sequence. Even though this is for installing on EWS it is a great help.

Thanks again for the input. The instructions cover what is in the wiki, so I’m glad they match.

So traveling further down the network connectivity concept, the machine was double-nat'ed and clearly that wasn't a preferred setup. I put on the local LAN away from the sandbox and reconfigured it and sipxconfig started quickly.

Thanks for your help!
