The sipX project has its roots in Massachusetts and I thought members of this community might find Jeff Pulver's upcoming VCON event in Hyannis interesting. I will be speaking in a mobility session there.
In short, VCON is a new Internet standard to streamline integration between AI and online comms services. Members of the VCON IETF working group will be at the event, and this is a chance to discuss and contribute to a new important IETF standardization effort. We
are also committed to spearhead VCON implementations at OnRelay and
will be showing a demo of generating VCON records from regular business
cell calls there. It has been a while since we have seen major innovations in the IP comms space. Silos, lack of standards and open APIs remain obstacles for building creative ecosystems. VCON is an opportunity to do just that. For those that are interested in the history of the sipX open source project, Dan Petrie and Thomas Howe, both part of the original Pingtel team from where sipX originated, and now participants in the IETF VCON working group, will also be speaking. And Jeff Pulver, who is organizing the event, is OnRelay's first investor.
