Hello!

We have a range of Polycom VVX300 phones running over a sipXcom server and cannot get the Busy Line Field (BLF) feature to function properly when configured server-side. Locally setting the BLF on the phone via the device's web interface works fine (and accurately reports the call status on the display).

When added as as Speed Dial on the sipX server, the contact shows up (and dials correctly):

Checking the "Subscribe to presence" checkbox causes the contact to be removed from the phone display entirely:

... results in:

We don't have any additional configuration under the "BLF" options in the Phone or Phone Group (as those fields are intended to be left blank, from what I gathered). All other functionality works as expected.
  • The phones are on the 4.0.x firmware (configured server-side, though we've tried several firmware versions higher and lower) and the sipXcom server is on 17.04.
  • We've enabled Permissions for "Subscribe to Presence", as well as the necessary services on the sipXcom server.
Any ideas what may be causing this and what else we can try?

Can you remove everything on the phone speeddial list and just enable one user, with Presence selected and send the profile to see if it works?

One issue I see based on my own past experience is you have to have the extensions that are on the system and you will subscribe to presence with first, and any other number that does not subscribe to presence below that in the speeddial list.

Clicking on subscribe to presence is what will give you BLF features for an extension that you are looking for.

Also, your phone firmware seems pretty dated....  We're testing on 5.5.2 now for VVX and 4.0.11 for SPIP

Turns out we didn't have RLS enabled under Server -> Telephony Services. This fixed the issue for all endpoints on all firmware versions.
Thank you for your help!
