I have been looking for a way to enable receiving faxes on the server (sipXecs 14.04.20141017110701) on a number and getting those faxes send to an e-mail address. How do I correctly configure this?

I have tried configuring a phantom user, by going to unified messaging and fill in the e-mail address, DID and fax extension. But I don't get this to work.

For the DID I used the full phone/fax number to which faxes are supposed to send. For the Fax extension I don't what to fill in?

Can anyone tell me how to configure this, or point me to a good guide?

From a sipXcom perspective enabling fax on an extension is very simple.   In Unified messaging, you can assign it a separate extension.  However, I generally just put the DID number in that field, and leave the DID field blank.   You will have to enable email delivery for the extension, with attachment for the faxes to go through.

Thank you for your reaction.

I have tried it, and got a bit of progress.

I can now see that when trying to send a fax from another number, that is is actually trying to reach it. It went good one time, but without making any changes we also see that sometimes it is saying that the fax is either busy or that it cannot be reached.

Do you know if this has something to do with the configuration?

if you are using a SIP trunk are you certain that your trunking provider is delivering T.38 signaling?

if you are using a gateway with a PRI is t.38 enabled on the gateway?

Sorry for the late reply.

Our provider enabled T38 now and we tested the fax.
It is working fine now.

Thank you for the help.
