HI All,

I am very new to SIP development and I am trying to develop a sample
SIP application looking into the web.. I am able to create a project
using Websphere server as an application server and I even added a
feature CEA to it... WAS7.0+CEA1.0.0.1).. But I am not able to create
a call or I am not sure of what is happening in the code or with the
confguration.. I am not able to trace out anything..
Could you please let me know the series of steps I need to follow when
developing a SIP application using Websphere... Do I need to add a
Mediasever or any other thing....???? I am really a begginer to this
concept and I am not able to understand of where to start from...
Please provide me with some steps of what all are needed...
I am able to get SIP files and WAS and CEA feature .. anything else
needed to communicate thru'??

Hi Raja

There are basically 2 ways to develop communication enabled
applications with WAS CEA.
1. Use the CEA widgets and REST interface to create communication
enabled Web application. This method doesn't require any knowledge of
SIP actually, as the extendable CEA widgets give you a way to easily
add communication functionality to your web application.

2. Create more advanced SIP application with JSR 289 API.

You wouldn't need a media server just for a sample SIP application,
but you need to define exactly what you want your application to do…
