I read but do not understand the SIPDroid project FAQ New Standby
Technique.
I assume this was published on Sept 2009 and has not been updated.
For the Android mobile phones (say Android 2.1 or 2.2 or 2.3), is
there any method to run a small (non-battery draining) background task
to keep wifi awake and listen to Google Voice incoming Native Direct
telephone call (wifi only, not forward Call to cellular). Then,
execute the Google Voice App and ring the Android mobile and let user
to receive the incoming call?
Thank you.

I understand the question and am still trying to figure that out myself. I am sure it is possible but i haven't discovered the answer yet.
