I have been planning on making a SIP Gateway using android. Trixbox
can use bluetooth with a phone but it takes certain chipsets and
certain phones to work properly.

I have not downloaded the source yet but will this week. A quick
question is how is the audio captured? Are you using
android.net.rtp? The android rtp library doesn't let me change the
source of the audio. Android now allows recording of the incoming
call and I want to feed that to the RTP. Android does not allow
playing audio to the call but using the headphone jack I can loop the
audio output to the microphone. A very simple plug.

Before I start going through the code is this possible with functions
contained within sipdroid or maybe someone knows of an existing
project?

Thanks
Thomas

I haven't touched it yet. I did go through the code and it looks
feasible. I currently use a Grandstream Gateway and I need to
wireshark the SIP messages and check out the process. I could read
the RFC but its easier to see it this way.

any news... any any link for getting Trixbox to act as bluetooth headset? I remember trying to learn Asterix and it wasn't easy so expect it's the same...
