Is Speex support coming for donut?

I've been poking around android master source tree and noticed that in
the initial code merge from donut, they introduced libspeex.
I suppose this means they intend to add support to the API for the
Speex codec. I know there are experimental builds for the sdk. Maybe
the API has already been extended there.
On the other hand... do you think speex could be included as a codec
for sipdroid based on this source code?
