Dear Students,

The Vale Columbia Center on Sustainable International Investment (VCC) at Columbia Law School, a joint Center of Columbia Law School and the Earth Institute, is accepting applications for Unpaid Research Assistant positions for the Fall 2012 semester. Research Assistants are staffed to one or more specific research projects depending on the background and interests of the particular applicant.

The VCC is a leader on issues related to foreign direct investment (FDI) in the global economy, focusing on the development and dissemination of practical approaches and solutions to maximize the impact of international investment for sustainable development. The VCC undertakes interdisciplinary research and advisory projects with Governments, convenes multi-stakeholder dialogue, arranges educational programs, and develops resources and tools for stakeholders. For a list of VCC current projects, please visit our website www.vcc.columbia.edu .

The ideal candidates will be interested in foreign investment (including investment arbitration), sustainable development, and/or extractive industries and natural resource management. Candidates must have astute research, analytical and writing skills, and enjoy working on a team. Must commit to at least 15 hours per week, but more hours are possible, as is continuation into the Spring and Summer terms.

To apply please send a cover letter, writing sample and CV to VCC’s Executive Coordinator, Nancy Siporin (nsip...@gmail.com).

Best regards,

Loren
