University Theatre announces auditions for Urinetown, The Musical, an
irreverent and impudent musical comedy that will have audiences running
to the restroom while they wonder how a show with such a bad title
could be so much fun! Winner of 3 Tony Awards in 2002 and nominated
for another 6, Urinetown, The Musical tells the story of the oppressed
poor who rise up against a big corporation (the Urine Good Company)
that is making them pay to pee. If you feel that we should be Free to
pee whenever we want, wherever we want, and with whomever we want, plan
now to audition for this delightful show.

Auditions will be held Sept. 14 & 15, from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. in the
Dance Studio and Arena Theatre.

Please prepare 16 bars from two separate Broadway-style shows. Bring
sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. If you absolutely cannot
prepare a couple of short selections, Bruce Earnest, music director,
will guide you through a vocalization.

Dance auditions will include learning a dance phrase. Please dress to
move and wear dance shoes or go barefoot.

Reserve audition times by signing up on the theatre callboard. Please
complete both auditions on the same night and make sure your
dance/singing audition times do not overlap. Perusal scripts/librettos
are available for sign out from Eric Hagen in room 184E.
