THE GOOD DOCTOR auditions

The Vermillion Community Theatre is proud to announce the opening
show in their 2007 Season: Neil Simon's THE GOOD DOCTOR!
Decades before the fall of the Berlin Wall, America's most popular
playwright, Neil Simon (already famous for THE ODD COUPLE, BAREFOOT IN
THE PARK, LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS, and many other hit Broadway
shows) did his bit for glasnost by adapting vignettes written by
premier Russian playwright Anton Chekhov for the American stage.
THE GOOD DOCTOR features nine tales introduced by the character of
"The Writer", who represents Anton Chekhov himself. By turn farcical,
poignant, and blackly humored; the stories show life in 19th Century
Russia and feature a wide range of characters: bureaucrats and
generals, oldsters looking for love, a father trying to help his son
become a man, clever peasants and seducers, and the title "Good
Doctor" - who is actually only a clumsy dental student with his first
patient.
The Vermillion Community Theatre will be holding auditions for their
production of THE GOOD DOCTOR on Monday, February 26th (7pm-9pm) and
Tuesday, February 27th (8pm-10pm) at the Washington Street Arts Center
(202 Washington Street).
Roles are available for between 2 to 10 women and 3 to 15 men. Ages
16 to 86 are welcome. Audition materials will be provided at the
audition, nothing need be prepared in advance.
