What is even stranger is that when I open a project that had Noire loaded in Kontakt before this problem occurred, the instrument loads with no problems. This problem therefore only occurs when I tried to load a new instance of Noire (and several other instruments).
thanks for your advice I managed to solve it. the plug in settings were fine so I deactivated it and then reactivated it and everything was fine. Thank you so much you were better than the support who was unable to advise me.
What I can't understand though, is that when I load an old project where I used Noire, it loads fine, and I can play it no problem. But when I try to add a new track within that project and select Noire through Kontakt, I get the error message saying it's too old to load it. Something about that says this is a bug, rather than anything to do with software versions. What do you think?
I'm so confused. I have Kontakt 6 (v6.8.0), Kontakt 7 (v7.6.1) and Komplete Kontrol. When I tried and load Noire in any of these instances it doesn't load. I either get the error message in posted at the start of this thread, or in the case of Komplete Kontrol I get the error "Plugin not found. Please open the standalone application to rescan, or recan manually in the Plug-in preferences."
I am as confused as you , but did you try to install the old version of Noire from the page that I linked to via my second link in my first post above ? , this page : -instruments.com/discussion/17039/previous-versions-of-recently-updated-kontakt-libraries-compatibility-with-k6-older-libraries/p1
I have to say that since I never tried then I don't know , but my guess that if you just install it on top of the other without uninstalling the prior version then it most likely will work. All I know is that a lot of people download the libraries and install them and apparently get it to work , but since I have never seen any thing about method used then I can not say that I know for sure !
Unfortunately, NI does not let me put the link here because I am too new to the forum, but if you search in their support site for "How to Downgrade Native Access 2 to Native Access 1" you will find the steps.
I'm interested in buying one of the Session Guitar packs, but for now I cannot upgrade past OS X Mojave and Kontakt Player 6.6.1. The Specifications for SG refer back to those for Kontakt, and only Version 7 is mentioned.
I'm asking because none of them actually requires it? For instance, 'Electric Vintage' says "For use with: Free KONTAKT PLAYER version 6.5.2 and higher, or KONTAKT version 6.5.2 and higher." on its product page way down below. Other 'Session Guitarist' instruments may have different version requirements, but if you're on 6.6.1, all of them - except 'Electric Mint' and 'Prime Bass' - should work with your version.
@Monochrome Once you hit the BUy button you just get a reminder that Kontakt or Kontakt Player is needed to load the library. The current version of Kontakt is then showed, it's not a system requirement.
Thanks for replying. Yes it did hint that Kontakt 7 was the required version in that on the Session Sunburst product page the link to System Requirements only goes to the Kontakt 7 page. But after I added it to the checkout, the sidebar on THAT page says it works in Kontakt 5 or higher. Anyway, I purchased Session Vintage guitar and it works fine in Kontakt Player 6.6.1. Screenshots of the Product page and the Checkout page attached.
I've read a number of posts in relation to the titled error message but I'm puzzled by the reference to Kontakt v7.7.0.000 in my message. I have what I believe is the most up to date version of Kontakt 7 Player (v7.6.1) via Native Access. I only get this error when trying to load two expansions, Hybrid Keys and Ethereal Earth, all other expansions and instruments seem to be fine. I'm running Windows 11 with Reason Studio 12 and I get the the error in both stanalone and VST3 plugin instances. I have reinstalled the problematic expansions but the problem persists. I've gone through the NI trouble shooter on this issue but it doesnt resolve my problem and, for the life of me, I can't see where I can raise a support ticket on the NI support pages. Any thoughts???
I will need in the next weeks to update an old macbook (mid-2012 version) to Sonoma in order to run various things on it (Live 12, Kontakt 7 and Fables, etc. etc.) but I'm still a bit afraid of the side effects.
I had a problem with Oclp that no new app could installed. I made a complete new blank installation from Catalina with oclp to Ventura. I am still in the installation Prozess. Cause of to many Live Packs ?. It took me a day but it is Running fast and stable. I would not Go on Sonoma. Ventura is quite enough.
Does anyone know if it's possible to purchase the full version of Kontakt 6 anywhere now that the Kontakt 7 version is out? I am running on an older operating system MacOS Mojave 10.14 that won't support Kontakt 7 and there are some sampler libraries I am trying to use that require the full version of Kontakt 6 or higher. I currently own Kontakt 5 full version.
If I upgrade my MacOS, my version of Protools will no longer be compatible, and it would start a chain effect of upgrading everything which I don't want to do since I own a perpetual licence of Protools and don't want to switch to a subscription based service.
Yes, but Kontakt 7 is not optimized enough for Logic Pro. I owned Komplete Ultimate 14 with Kontakt 7. It crashes (often) Logic with presets changes, search bar doesn't work - can't type any text in search field.
Hi, I'm looking to buy Kontakt 6 upgrade from Kontakt 5. There are couple of project that I receive from my clients where they all used Kontakt 6. I can buy Kontakt 7 as well but prefer to have K6 full version available for I don't how many times I'll have to deal with such projects.
The thing is that on many projects I have about 20 Kontakt 4 instances in use and a lot of effects/automations linked to those channels. And as soon as I unload a Kontakt 4 instance, C6 deletes all the associated Kontakt 4 audio tracks with their effects/automations. Of course, I would like to keep those audio tracks and associate them to Kontakt 5. How to do so?
Thanks.
If you absolutely must convert the old CUbase files to use Kontakt 5, check whether you can copy the automation from track to track - IIRC that can be done. Then, for each instance of Kontakt 4 in the Cubase file (one at a time) you could open an instance of Kontakt 5, create new MIDI tracks as copies of the old MIDI tracks, and then set up the effects, etc, as in the original Cubase tracks, and copy the automation from the old Kontakt audio tracks (etc) to the new ones. Sounds like a lot of work.
Same here. I basically would just leave them as Kontakt 4, and use then as kontakt 4. Its not a great answer for you but other than saving everything and transferring it bit by bit into a new instance of 5, im not sure theres any quick and easy way of just doing this.
and what version the library needs you normally find on the product page, but if the new stuff for the mk3 is integrated i think you need really the latest kontakt 7.6.0 - but i dont know if thats the case for the factory library
@Velayutham The KFL 2 was updated to take advantage of the new keyboard features and now requires Kontakt 7.6, version that is not compatible with 10.15. Here are the installers for the previous version:
@Uwe303 Thanks for sharing the chart. It looks like the last supported Kontakt player version in MacOs Catalina is 7.3.2. In my machine, the Kontakt player got updated to 7.4.2. Is there a way to downgrade my player?
Am I correct in understanding that Kontakt 7.6 was updated but the update isn't compatible with MacOS Catalina and above (I'm currently running MacOS Sanoma 14.0)? Because of this, we need to downgrade to Kontakt Factory Library 2(1.2.0) so we can continue using the sounds that aren't ready for the MacOS update?
If you want a fully supported DAW situation for use with NI stuff right now - you will need to roll back your entire OS (Not just the Kontakt factory library) to MacOS 13 (Ventura) until such time the NI certifies its products for use with Sonoma.
i have mojave on 12core mac pro. I updated to the lates now my kontakt is too old. how can i revert back to the previous versions of some of the products. Like LO Fi Glo, Electric Mint, Stradivari Instruments etc.,,,,.....
as @Tj99 said, kontakt libraries do not come in 32-bit/64-bit flavors. Every kontakt instrument works in either 32-bit or 64-bit flavor of the kontakt version it was designed for, and I believe that the most recent version of Kontakt runs instruments designed for all prior versions as well (backward compatibility).
The only times you need to worry about which Kontakt version/edition to install are:
Even then this should not be a problem, as long as the name is the same, I guess! Kontakt vst3 automatically replaced Kontakt VST2 on my PC, and I did not have to do anything (they were both 64bit though)
