Igot the game working and without music, but when I add the files from the sote_fix.zip posted here my game no longer starts with the new shadows.exe and my launcher just freezes when I press the button to start the game, the shadows.exe is running in the background but the program doesn't appear nor open, is there anything I can do to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The only remaining problem which I have always had before and after the fix however are the window borders showing with a pixel length of transparency around it on the outside while in fullscreen mode, but I don't even know how to fix that.
Hi,
Well I tried the fix but trying to to run it on Windows XP SP3 was not a pleasant experience, videos corrupted, menus don't work properly, gameplay very slow. So I'll stick to using it with Voodoo3. It's the only game I have that needs it.
Just wanted to say, after I stumbled upon this thread I just HAD to give this a go... I had SotE on my N64 and it was one of my favourite games ever... I also still have my original copy for PC but sadly I never actually had a computer good enough or stable enough to play it back then. That being said, honestly, this was even easier to get working than Ep1 racer was (and that was remarkably easy). I just installed it, used the SotE fix, copied over my WineD3D files from my Ep1 Racer install (because for some reason the ones included with SotE fix do not work at all, the game can't even load), and it was perfect. Did the audio file conversion, slapped on a whole lot of AA and AF, turned on vsync and that was that... the game runs 100% flawlessly. It's exciting to finally be able to play it the way it was intended and not the gimped N64 version!! Win 7 x64 here by the way.
Please help, this doesn't work for me, I have a bug/glitch that unexpectedly starts lagging my mouse, and a view starts moving itself to the right. Lagging of the mouse is actually more like extremely high sensitivity and sounds also lag when I try to look around.
Hello there, I figured out that the only thing that helps is not setting anti-aliasing and/or ambient occlusion on the highest value (I can't get into the game right now, so I don't remember which one). If you are suffering from the same problem, this should fix it. I hope it helps.
It can be a piece of hardware that messes the game. Try removing everything USB attached to your PC except your mouse and keyboard. It should do the trick if the overlays didn't. Let us know if it solves the issue for you.
@KarenItookThekid
If you can bring more info on your specific case that would be very useful. I'm not aware of another common reason for a stuck mouse besides bad peripheral reading (usually USB devices) or gaming overlays. If you didn't already, I recommend disabling the Xbox Gaming App. All Windows 10 PCs come with it, and it's another gaming overlay. Another suggestion is to go to your game's .exe, right click, choose Properties, and then in compatibility disable fullscreen optimizations.
In Star Wars: Empire at War, players controlled an entire war for the Star Wars galaxy as the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire. Now, they will face off against both of them in Forces of Corruption as a brand new third faction. As Tyber Zann, players will stop at nothing as they seek to further the sinister agenda of the Zann Consortium and become the most notorious criminal leader since Jabba the Hutt. With all new tactics like piracy, kidnapping, and bribery, players can control the shadowy forces of corruption in their attempt to rule the Star Wars underworld.
Ive downloaded the patch, not sure how to update the game with it, put it into the correct folder, when i open the patch i get the exception message, same if i open the game. Please would like some advice or help
So some dude on Microsoft says he got this and some other patch and got it to work on Windows 8.1. I know this to be true, because I was just playing Awakening of the Rebellion 2.6 Beta last night. I gave a Toshiba L-55 b series laptop with windows 8.1 Preinstalled. I got a few other patches earlier, but now it doesn't work again... Somehow... Maybe I 4got to get a patch or something who knows...?
i downloaded the patch, but i'm having problems with three of the files. the EAWXlauncher, PreceptionFunctionG and the swfoc.exe. it says: Error: cannot delete output file. is there a way to work around this?

I've been playing SWTOR for barely over a year. I logged in for that big update a couple of months ago (which took a while) but didn't play, just exited once the download was complete. I haven't played since but wanted to a few days ago. The game had another update that I missed, so I did that. Afterwards, I logged in (entered my name and password). The yellow PLAY button highlighted, but I didn't hear the mechanical sound effect that usually alerts players that the game is ready to launch. I clicked on the PLAY button, it faded in color/was no longer highlighted, and nothing happened. I waited for a bit, but still, nothing happened. I logged out and tried again. I've done this off and on for 3 days now, and I still get the same result. Is anyone else having this issue? Can anyone lend me some advice?
I do have a Windows 10 system on my laptop, and I play the game on it. I did download DirectX 9 from the Microsoft website that you shared with me. I believe I followed your instructions and the website's correctly and installed it. Afterwards, I re-started my laptop and then tried to play SWTOR. I got the same result: The yellow PLAY button highlighted, but I didn't hear the mechanical sound effect that usually alerts players that the game is ready to launch. I clicked on the PLAY button, it faded in color/was no longer highlighted, and nothing happened. I waited for a bit, but still, nothing happened. I must be doing something wrong.
Fixed! I tried the DirectX 9 again and placed it on my desktop and clicked on the program. It installed/launched. Then I logged in to my SWTOR again, and it worked! Thank you all for your help! I really appreciate this.
Just for awareness , the directx link you have provided (yes its the one swtor provided) it is just a self extracting file if run , people still need to go into where it is extracted and run the exe to install directx ...
this link -us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35 doesn't need to do this it runs and installs
Star Wars Galaxies has been at the top of every MMORPG player's most wanted list for ages. It's won a handful of E3 awards, been the subject of huge speculation and anticipation, and has thousands of gamers across the country taking the day off in anticipation of its release. The end of the beta test period came as quite a surprise to many, though, and some have suggested it could have used a little longer in development. The launch day brought the usual overcrowded servers and billing difficulties, so if you're looking to find out how it plays, this might be your only chance for a few days.
Galaxies' flexibility in character generation is outstanding. You can choose from eight races, including Wookies, Bothans, Mon Calamari and the ever-present humans. Every aspect of your character's appearance can be altered, from basic attributes like your height and weight to the finer details of your facial features. With a little patience, and a little trial and error, you can make your character look pretty much however you want.
From there, it's on to choose your starting profession. Your choice here determines the balance of your starting statistics and your first skills, but as your character isn't required to stick with them, it's not a crucial moment by any means. The six professions on offer include two combat-focused roles, one ranged and one melee; two support roles, medic and scout; and two more peaceful types, artisan and entertainer.
The character progression system is different from most other MMORPGs - there's no concept of absolute "level," or anything comparable to it. Rather, your character's skills improve as you use them; so if you want to become a high level artisan, you'll need to spend a long time making basic objects to advance your skills. Completing all the skills in one particular group lets you proceed on to an advanced, more specialised profession, like weaponcrafter, bioengineer, commando, or architect. You are free to mix and match skills from different professions early on, but at some point you'll be forced into choosing one or two areas in which to specialise.
Although it sounds complex, the advancement system is actually explained very well in the game. The information screens do a great job of conveying where your character is, where you can go, and what you'll need to get there. What's not so good, though, is that to advance certain skills you're going to be in for a lot of tedious, repetitive, "experience grind" play. Crafters suffer from this particularly, as all four of their basic skills are best advanced by creating and destroying the same few items over and over again, for hours.
