Hateis one of the basic human emotions. Like prayers close to everyday life, Psalm 58 (Ps 58) also expresses the feelings of hatred of evil by the righteous. By studying the text and exploring the theological message of Psalm 58, the article draws practical calls for an attitude to evil in today's world. The paper first presents some particular points in the text of Ps 58. It then delves into the theological messages of the text, centered around four main points: to hate evil is to expose it (cc. 2-3); To hate evil is to denounce it (cc. 4-6); To hate evil is to ask for its destruction (cc. 7-10); To hate evil is to motivate and hope in God's victory (cc. 11-12). Finally, there is a personal reflection on the call to live a constant battle against evil and trust in God, even though evil is cunning and cunning.
