Iam getting layer shifts on my prints. Seems after the first layer. I have read a few similar threads but none seem to have a solution and they are fairly old so starting a new thread in hopes there is a solution I am unaware of. One thread mentioned turning off the 1st layer scan but id like to keep that since that is one of the reasons I bought the X1C. I am saving my parts as STEP files from Solidworks and seemed the shift has appeared when I switched over from STL and curious if this is a possible reason. I may try saving as an STL tomorrow but need to leave now so cant try it until tomorrow. Any ideas?

I will have to check on the fans. Is there a video to show what I am looking for. Also as for speed and settings I am using the stock setting for the bambu labs Polycarbonate. Unsure what the speed is but I never adjusted it so its what is the default at the moment.


When printing under high acceleration or if the excess chute is blocked by pileup, there are risks that the XY motor will skip steps during printing. When the printer is homing, it will monitor the load of the XY motors to determine if the tool head has reached the end stop. Now, we use the same method to monitor the step skipping during printing. If skipped steps are detected, the printer will pause the print and do an XY-axis homing, then resume the print.


Did you check the video timelaps? if the base plate was not installed or the bottom layer was not moved. I had twice similar issue . One was that i did not put properly the base and the second time, just shifted the whole bottom layer after restart . But since i make sure that clean the base with soap , not using very often glue and double checking the plate. And watching the first 2 or 3 layers before i go away. If you want get Orca Slicer and has some interesting and simple tuning tests i am using it often and do not use the auto flow for calibrated filament , Bambu Slicer i use when do not have K and flow factors tested on


Thanks everyone for the advice. I think its a random occurance. I have been prininting continuously since and have not had a layer shift sense. Seems I get one every now and then. I may try lowering the Volumetric speed down a bit on the PC just to see if it helps with a few other issues I am having on occasion.


hi Qapla, I have exactly the same problem with the catana and the sword, although a few months ago the impression was great. today this is not the case, and I opened an incident at bambulab they were responsive, they asked me for the STL files and the data of the X1 carbon when printing the part, I am waiting a return from them.


When your speed dips and bursts, you use more fuel, and spend more money, than you need to. Tests have shown that varying your speed up and down between 75 and 85 km per hour every 18 seconds can increase your fuel use by 20%.

Second, if you want a rear view mirror, you won't have one in this game (there's one with the hood view, but in cockpit, you see half of the rear view mirror in half of the cars unless you push a button to look left or right).

Third, if you want good AI, look elsewhere. The AI has its good moments, but most of the time they got a "kill or be killed" mentality.

And finally, if you want to drift, look elsewhere. You CANNOT drift with a steering wheel in drift mode with Shift 2, the drift mode is broken. Same with a controller (Got stuck at 97% with a controller, it's impossible to finish the drift mode.)



I play with a PS3 and a Logitech G27, 540 degrees, Hard/Elite mode, no TCS/ABS/etc (paddle shifting or 6-speed shifter + clutch works).

With that said, after messing with this game for months with two different steering wheels, here are the most useful settings:



So, your car drives like a boat. Just these changes will make an ENORMOUS difference.


(Car modifications)

-Tires: Use semi-slick or slicks only. Otherwise, you'll drift every corner, or the car will seem to sway in a strange way in every corner.

(In Advanced car settings)

-Caster angle: Translation, "how much slack do you want with your steering". Set it to more than 50% for more precision. Set it higher if needed.

-Front sway bar: Set it to maximum stiffness and you will be able to point the car everywhere you want it.

-Spring rates, dampers, etc: Setting them to 2.0 is a good choice if all the rest isn't sufficient (or if the car still feels floaty).


That's ALL you need, everything else only does minor changes.



Bonus:

You still feel like you're driving with Traction Control, etc.?

-There's another problem called "visco-electronic lock" on some AWD cars (Lambos, etc) set to 50% by default. Set it to 25% and it will drive okay. Set it to 0% and say hello to oversteer, 100km/h rubber burning and frequent tire squealing.

Now, you feel like you're driving an arcade game because your tires don't even squeal, so you don't even feel the limits of your car?

-Set the rear sway bar to 50% stiffness or even less.
