It is here that Lord nArAyaNa gave the ashTAkshara mantrOpadesam to Naran, and thus to the entire mankind.

969. Before old age forces us to hold our bent back with one hand and hold the stick with the other hand ; before our withered body aches, eyes blur and we are racked with cough, making young women smirkingly remark how old and haggard we have become..... May we pay obeisance to Shri Vadari, where bees hum musically after having drunk the nectar from the flowers. Vadari vaNangudumE! (2)

970. Before our nerves show up like wound ropes, as our skin and muscles shrink; before our vision gets hazy and we are unable to walk further and start faltering... Oh Mind! Realise His glory! Vadari vaNangudumE! (4)

972. Having wasted all our youth in frivolous pleasures, even in old age, as we cough incessantly, we still boast about how we were sought many young ladies. Before our walk falters and we are forced to use the stick to help us walk... May we pay obeisance to Shri Vadari, who wears the cool tulasi garlands with bees buzzing around it. Vadari vaNangudumE! (5)

973. Before our speech gets slurred and our body is racked by phlegmatic cough; before our body shrinks and we start babbling due to mental instability... May we pay obeisance to Shri Vadari, who is indeed my swAmi, my revered father, the omniscient. He is the one who churned the milky ocean and is the collyrium coloured EmperumAn. Vadari vaNangudumE! (6)

974. Before the dainty ladies remark in disgust at the way we have become old and are racked by phlegmatic cough; before these women mock at our incapacitated existence.... May we pay obeisance to Shri Vadari, who is our precious wealth and the one who is the cause for our life! Vadari vaNangudumE! (7)

975. The women with beautiful eyes like the kuvaLai flowers shun us and exclaim, " Get away! Don't remain here! You have become thin and lustre-less. You cough incessantly!" Vadari vaNangudumE! (8)

976. Before our organs start failing; before we become senile and our senses become slurred, constantly spitting the phlegm collecting in our chest; before we start babbling irrelevantly.
