I'm trying to get Dolby Atmos working in windows 10. I've used it before with my RT3080 and this time its just not showing up as an option under Spatial Sound. However, exclusive mode games that have Atmos it works perfectly and it also works perfectly in the Dolby Access App if i have dolby atmos for headphones enabled.

Check that your audio device and drivers support Dolby Atmos. You mentioned that your LG B2 TV and Sonos Beam soundbar support Dolby Atmos, but it's also important to make sure that your audio drivers are up-to-date and support Dolby Atmos. You can check for driver updates using the Device Manager in Windows.

Make sure that Spatial Sound is enabled in Windows. To do this, go to Settings > System > Sound > Sound Control Panel > Playback tab, select your audio device, and click Properties. Under the Spatial sound tab, select "Windows Sonic for Headphones" or "Dolby Atmos for Headphones" if available.

Try disabling other audio enhancements. If you have other audio enhancements enabled, they may interfere with Dolby Atmos. To disable other audio enhancements, go to the Enhancements tab in the Properties window for your audio device and uncheck all enhancements.

THE PROBLEM:
The issues arise when trying to set the correct settings to have Dolby Atmos enabled. I go into Dolby Access. Click setup , continue, and then "experience Atmos". It then changes the Sound format from 48khz 24 bit to Dolby Access for home theater, and Changes the Spacial audio from off to Dolby Access for home theater.
Then I can play some of the clips at the home screen of Dolby Access. Works great. But then netflix doesn't sound as good, and I lose rear speakers when playing music with Pandora and youtube. IT kills surround sound speakers for non atmos content.

So Am I supposed to set the sound format to 48khz 24 bit and leave spacial audio off? Am I supposed to wait for new drivers from AMD who knows about the Dolby atmos issues and has posted on this forum in september about it under another post? -software/can-t-enable-dolby-atmos-via-7900-xtx/m-p/588627#M1703...

Am I supposed to enable Dolby Atmos in Dolby access or setting sound format and spatial audio to Dolby Atmos for home theater in both areas? Is the amd driver causing the rear speakers not to play?

If I just set it to 48hkz 24 bit sound format and spatial audio off, All speakers work good and sound great but seems I am not getting Dolby audio/Atmos, but instead it says "PCM" when I check the playing stream through ... button on the LG remote.

I don't know how to get Dolby Atmos support on netflix on pc, but I can just use the TCL Q7 TV remote, go to netflix and do that instead. Setting it to 48h/24bit and going to netflix app still shows dolby atmos though. It seems dolby atmos works and enables for access atmos content videos, It seems netflix can see I have atmos, but I have spacial audio set to off and 48htz/24 bit selected instead of selecting atmos for home theater for both.

So am I doing it right. Leave sound format to 48htz/24 bit , spatial audio to off, and just let it sometimes turn on? Is this an issue with the AMD driver and sound driver the 7900xtx uses? In the future will an update come out that I can turn on Dolby Atmos in sound format and spatial audio settings and the rear speakers will work correctly, and the possibility of 5.1 surround be enabled instead of just Stereo, atmos, dtx:x? Please help me

IMPORTANT UPDATE: You must have Disable enhancement off or it will kill your rear speakers even with atmos content played by dobly access app. DO NOT do the windows speaker configurator. It messes it up, If you did, go back in, Select stereo, unclick full range speakers and click done or go to enhancements tab and click DISABLE!

I have atmos working, in everything except rear speakers during pandora or youtube. It works great on all atmos content, games, etc. I just need it to doe the correct channel /multichanne support . Both options are on in Dobly atmos Channel upscale and LG phone app Multistream enabled. But doesn't work.

I put a new ssd in my laptop by a shop and let the hard drive remain in the laptop as a storage . shopkeeper put windows 11 in my laptop .when windows was running in hard drive so at that time my laptop supported dolby atmos .now my laptop dont have dolby atmos and sound is so bad . Can you tell how to install dobly again

Uncanny. I bought it 2 days ago for use with headphones. I read some people raving about it and I always felt the spatial aspect poor in MSFS. I didn't use x-plane much but thought its C172 had a great spatial cockpit sound. Anyway Atmos was a mild improvement over the windows spatial setting I had but my headphones are cheap (for use with VR), so now I have 7 sets of wireless headphones in my Amazon wishlist I'm trying to choose between and also decide if it's even worth it.

Dolby Atmos is natively supported by MSFS. Dolby Atmos for Home Theatre is a free way to output audio in W10 and W11 if you have a compatible receiver or sound bar. You only have to pay a license fee of about 12 if you want to have access to Dolby Atmos for Headphones too. There aren't too many games that natively support Atmos, but MSFS is definitely one of them. Other games that natively support Atmos on pc are: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019, Black Ops Cold War, Vanguard and MWii. Forza Horizon 4 & 5, Forza Motorsport 7 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Atmos works flawlessly outputting from my 3070 and from my 6900XT. I advise to get a Display port to HDMI cable. I have my GPU plugged into my LG C1 oled via a HDMI cable and have display port to hdmi cable from a display port on my GPU to HDMI in on my Atmos receivers. This way, cuts out any audio lag from trying to use earc.

4L0M is correct that Atmos is supported in MSFS. One of the requirements is to download the Dolby Access app (free for home theatre users) and configure your speakers in Windows for Atmos. I can't speak for headphones but with a home theatre setup you need a Dolby Atmos compatible AV receiver linked to you video card over HDMI.

Yes, download the dolby access app from the Windows store. If you are outputting to an Atmos receiver, there is no cost to use it. You need to pay for the Dolby Atmos for headphones plug in, this goes on sale quite often. I think I paid less than 10 for it. The Headphones Atmos app can be used on 10 different devices once you have paid for it, so you can also use it on Series X at the same time if you have one using the same Microsoft account. ANY stereo headset can be used for simulating Atmos in a headset, although the better the quality headset, the better the results.

You can also pay about 20 for DTS X headphones & the DTS X object based sound codec for speakers if your amp/soundbar also supports it and you want to have all options open for object based audio on your pc.

Is it possible to use Atmos application for windows 10 to use Atmos 7.1.4. The receiver currently only registers 7.1 with the current version of emby theater. The demo media in the Dolby Atmos application registered with receiver as atmos 7.1.4. Is there another way to play mkv atmos with emby?

Using The windows desktop app emby theater, The weird part is on my receiver it still marks the test mp4 as "7.1 ch B" which is multiCh PCM in emby but sounds come out of the heights (might be a mental thing but doesn't sound the same). I'm using LX-701 Pioneer for this room.

So, to clarify what Atmos is. It's object based processing. If you bitstream your audio, the metadata is sent to your receiver for processing. And then it sends the processed audio to the designated speakers. So it's 7.1+Atmos. Not 10 or 12 channels. The Atmos processing in windows 10, is a software processing to simulate the same output. I avoid it all costs. I have 7.1.2 Atmos, with Atmos enabled speakers.

I have the dolby app installed and when connected through hdmi my options are 7.1 and atmos for home theater(assumed to be software). The apps that trigger atmos sound good whether its using software based atmos i'm not sure. the atmos works correctly in the windows store app and sounds good. I don't have any of the encoding checked for bypass in the theater app. is there any other options I would need?

Which app are you using? So from the sounds of it dolby app is a UWP integration and the option your using is bitstream through to receiver. I'll do some research on switching my HDMI to setup bitstream instead for a test.

I'll save those topics for different thread mpv player in linux full screen :-) I can now enjoy Atmos and 4k using a windows 10 laptop. Next is to figure out HDR if you have any thread links or if that is still in the works. Thanks again.
