Hallo,
I am working on the development of a collaborative platform to manage
scientific projects and the reative data (documents, events, minutes,
etc.). The platform provides also the possibility to create video
conferences with the members of a specific project.
I would like to know whether is possible to use the SIOC framework as
a sort of middleware. The goal is to let the people use their
preferred IM program (like Skype, messenger, ICQ, ...) trasparently.
The middleware should "translate" the differences among the programs
as if each participant would use the same IM program. However, from
what I have learned from SIOC documentation, this does not seem
possible, because SIOC gather data that is already "published" and
based on the SIOC ontology or similars (FOAF for example).
Another required functionality, maybe more feasible, is to provide the
access to a document library (already done) to the project members
using the SIOC framework. More in detail, during a meeting the
participants should be able to access to such a library from different
systems thanks to SIOC. How can be developed this solution?
Thanks to all for every suggestion.
Bye,
Francesco
