Strangely, I had a similar problem early this week when diagnosing a problem between a FreeBSD installation and a USB / NIC (Realtek 2832 based chipset), I resolved the problem by replacing the USB device with a RAlink 2800 based USB / NIC (I would have used a PCI based wireless NIC but the computer did not have any free PCI slots).
I would suggest that if forced to use any type of USB device, confirm that the operating system supports it before trying to install said device (I have also had previous problems with installing certain USB / DAB / DVB devices on a Debian based installation).
In the 2nd point of the previous message I forgot to say that IF the drivers stop working after a kernel update, I still believe the computer can be booted from the previous kernel, giving some time to look for a fix.
Hi Gabriel,
OK, got it. So in that case would it be better to install the NS7 alpha2 version that (seems) includes the drivers? Can I use that as a stable version (so basically rely that it will work properly without issues)?

Then on following windows I've press "Test the program..." button, the installation started and I was able to do the full installation of the driver. Don't know if it needed or not but before doing this procedure I had already connected the CP800 to an usb port and switch it on.
I've found your post for a miracle...Canon must be ashamed about this. I think it would need some second to make the driver for win 10 and put in the list of drivers...but for sure, business is business, so better try to sell new hardware than make useful the older...put your selphy cp 800 in the trash while we will make spots about how to save the planet and the environment...
Where did you change the Driver for that device? If you changed it in IDE from Placeholder to a Z-wave switch Device Handler then that will mess things up. If you changed it in the app > that device > 3 dots in the upper right and selected drivers then that is the correct method for changing from one Edge Driver to another Edge Driver.
If you install a custom DTH on the IDE for your implant and repair it, it should pair with the custom DTH instead of an Edge driver. Once it is paired with the custom DTH you can switch it to a stock DTH if desired in the IDE.
LAC. If you cannot get the Driver Updater to uninstall, follow this Microsoft article to perform a "system restore", using a restore point PRIOR to installing driver updater. Use the second link and follow the instructions in the area labeled "Restore from a system restore point". When the recovery is successful DO NOT reinstall nor use Driver Updater. The same scenario will more likely than not reappear if you do.
hello Beautiful people as the topic says i want to install IBM INFORMIX ODBC DRIVER 64 Bits version but i cant find it anywhere i even uninstalled my ibm informix odbc driver package from my pc and re-installed it again to check if i missed something to checkmark at the installation process, but even that i can only install the 32 bit version as the picture shows:
I suppose so? That just sets the modesetting driver. I think a better solution would be to not install(or remove) xf86-video-intel which would solve the same problem in a more flexible way. The level of effort is the same either way.
I have an MSI installer for my product which needs the MSOLEDBSQL driver to run. I am trying to include the driver installation as part of the main installer and not as a pre-requisite (which is how it was being handled till now).
I know that we can't run 2 MSIs concurrently, but are there any changes we can make to do what I am trying to do. Does anyone know how to avoid using a pre-requisite installation before I can start my main application's installer?

I'm installing Windows 7 on my computer. It's fairly modern (2020), uses UEFI (with legacy support), and has no PS/2 ports or disk drive and uses a modern chipset. I used NTLite on a separate installation of Windows 10 (on my first hard drive) to create a disk image which would include USB and modern chipset drivers for use during installation of Windows 7. I burned my custom ISO to a USB drive and booted it in Legacy mode, making sure my second hard drive had no partitions and was converted to MBR.
The first phase of the setup (the part that takes place entirely on the USB drive) worked great. But as soon as I had to boot Windows 7 from the hard drive, the USB drivers were no longer working and I could not control the setup from there. And yes, I did try all of the USB compatibility options in the BIOS to no effect. What's worse is that I can't boot back in to Windows 10 on a separate (GPT) hard drive because the UEFI boot loader was mysteriously erased, and going back to UEFI mode in the BIOS does not display any boot options.
Since I have no bootable operating systems and cannot continue the Windows 7 setup without USB drivers, I concluded that I must use the Command Prompt in the Windows 7 install disk (on a USB drive in this case) to add USB drivers to the Windows 7 installation on the hard drive. What is the most straightforward way to do that?

A long time ago when I was first getting my start in the world of tech, I worked for a really awesome guy, John, who for some reason saw some potential in me and gave me a chance to learn IT while working in his silicon wafer reclaim business. They built out a multi-million dollar wafer reclaim facility and part of the line was supported by an expensive tool that had a networking option, which cost several thousand dollars and consisted of a $25 network card and some drivers. Thus, I got to put on a cleanroom bunny suit and install a NIC on this wafer processing tool.
Note 1: I started benching TimeSpy in Driver 375.63. Also, I've been recording CPU Test for TimeSpy which is useless in our context. Starting with driver 375.86 test, TimeSpy will now be Overall and Graphics score.
If you are having issue installing the driver for GTX 1080/1070/1060 on Windows 10, make sure you are on the latest build 1511 (10586). If you are on the older build (e.g. 10240), you need to update your windows. Press Windows Key + R and type winver to check your build version.
A lot of driver crashing is caused by Windows TDR issue. There is a huge post on GeForce forum about this here. This post dated back to 2009 (Thanks Microsoft) and it can affect both Nvidia and AMD cards.
My color is washed out after upgrading/installing driver. Help! Try going to the Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> Scroll all the way down -> Output Dynamic Range = FULL.
What does the new Power Management option "Optimal Power" means? How does this differ from Adaptive? The new power management mode is related to what was said in the Geforce GTX 1080 keynote video. To further reduce power consumption while the computer is idle and nothing is changing on the screen, the driver will not make the GPU render a new frame; the driver will get the one (already rendered) frame from the framebuffer and output directly to monitor.
