Dear MRST Development Team,
I am writing to report a potential issue in the implementation of the multi-segment well model in MRST, based on the example provided in multisegmentWellExample.m.
As shown in the attached Fig.1, the computed values of qTr and qTs are exactly the same (likewise for qGr and qGs). This appears to be incorrect, as the total flow rates at reservoir conditions (qTr, qGr) should generally differ from those at standard conditions (qTs, qGs) due to phase behavior and compressibility effects.
Furthermore, as illustrated in Fig.2, the sum of inflow rates (gas phase) is equal to qGs, which again seems inconsistent. In contrast, in the standard (non-segmented) well model, the computed fluxes at the perforated cells are understood to represent reservoir conditions, not standard conditions.
These discrepancies suggest there may be an issue in the handling or reporting of flow rates within the multi-segment well implementation.
Could you kindly confirm whether this is a known issue, or provide some guidance on how these quantities are intended to be interpreted?
I would be very grateful for your feedback.
Best regards,
Calvin
