Welcome to the MRST user group, a mailing list and forum dedicated to the discussion of the Matlab Reservoir Simulation Toolbox developed by the Computational Geosciences group at SINTEF ICT!

MRST is an open source Matlab toolbox containing simulators, functions and utilities for simulation of flow and transport in porous media. Hello Greetings,
I downloaded mrst and followed the installation guideline provided but am still having issues when I entered the untar command it display error. Please I need help with a step by step installation guide for mrst. Am using R2013a.

I downloaded the MRST 2016(a) version from your site . Many of the modules,examples and other stuff is missing i retried downloading it but the same issue persisted can u plz send me a full version download link for MRST where i can find all examples , tutorials and modules

I am sorry to hear that you have experienced problems with our latest release. However, I am not able to reproduce the problems you describe. The version I downloaded this morning from our webpage (zip file: mrst-2016b.tar.gz, size: 37 M) seems to have all the intended examples, tutorials, and modules. Could you be more specific and give a few examples of what you are missing?

Hi,

I too am sorry that your initial impression of MRST was not what we strive for. However, unless you have specific reasons not to, you should generally prefer using the latest release (designation 2016b, 14th of December 2016) rather than the previous one (2016a, 8th of July 2016).

Note that MRST's naming convention, while similar to that of MATLAB itself, does not imply a direct correspondence with the MATLAB version. For instance as part of the release process leading up to MRST 2016b I tested the package using both versions 2014b (Linux) and 2016b (MS Windows) of the base MATLAB product.

That said, I too am having problems reproducing the symptoms you report even for MRST 2016a. When downloading the release from the MRST webpage I get a ZIP file (mrst-2016a.tar.gz) of 35 MB that contains all the examples that were part of that release. I'll therefore echo my colleague Knut-Andreas' request for a bit more detail regarding what you consider missing.

Please I need help with a step by step installation guide for mrst. Am using R2019b.
